Covid-19 has been plaguing the world for more than a year. For some companies it has brought big challenges, for others it has brought cash flow. Pentisol, based in Järvenpää, is one of the success stories of the koruna era. Demand for the company's disinfectant exploded.

"Demand for disinfectant has levelled off over the year. There is not the panic that there was last year when the situation exploded. The biggest peak in demand was in the spring of 2020, but demand is of course still higher than normal," say Pentisol's owners, entrepreneur couple Jari and Sanna Mäkinen.

In addition to disinfectant, food sprays sell well. The company's main product in the food sector is a spray-on cooking spray that can be used, for example, to oil baked goods.

Mäkinen believes that the coronavirus and increased home cooking have increased the demand for food sprays, especially as curfews are quite strict in other parts of the world. Pentisol is also an export company, with its sprays going to big brands for sale. Through distribution networks, the products reach consumers around the world.
