Järvenpää is home to several metal companies, including Auramo, Jarparo, Kavika, Rocla, Steelhouse Group, Tibnor and Tuusulan Työkalukoneistus. These local companies employ up to hundreds of workers.
One of the key goals and tasks of the City of Järvenpää's Business Services and Competence and Employment Services is to help and support businesses in Järvenpää in their own entrepreneurial activities.
In 2019, the Case Metalli group was born out of the needs of local metal (engineering and manufacturing) companies. The group consists of responsible persons from the City of Järvenpää, the Central Uusimaa Education and Training Association (Keuda), the Uusimaa TE Office and local metal companies. The role of the City of Järvenpää is to act as a platform that brings together the key players.
Case Metal's objectives
- identify the recruitment and skills development needs of companies in the metal sector (machinery and production technology)
- to bring the metal sector's labour needs and workers together
- contribute to the education and training of the sector to meet the skills needs of today's working life
- ensure clear contacts, i.e. where and who to contact for different training and recruitment needs
- improving the image of the sector - to come up with concrete measures to attract more talent - women, men, young people and people from foreign backgrounds
The group meets to identify needs, brainstorm solutions, agree on policies and responsibilities. The meetings openly address the challenges and create solution models with responsibilities. Existing practices have been strengthened and we have created a number of new ways of working to achieve our objectives.
Cooperation between Keuda, local businesses and primary schools is also a key element, taking young people into the sector and maintaining links between schools and businesses. Keuda's media students made the film below in cooperation with the group - There are jobs in the metal sector in Järvenpää.
The development of the Case Metal group continues. The metal sector offers jobs in Järvenpää now and in the future.
