The Järvenpää City Development Board decided to award Härmän Rat with the 2020 Sensible Award at its meeting on 9 December.
Härmän Rati is a restaurant, party room and accommodation, established in 2016. The restaurant is the only one in Finland to use 99% organic ingredients in its food. Härmän Rati has won the LUOMU SM competition for small operators four years in a row.

Bull Rati
The northern building or rati fits well into the traditional landscape of Lake Tuusula. Härmän Rat's hardened, two-storey main building has been moved to Järvenpää from Lahdenkylä in Alahärmä. The log building was built in the 1920s and originally served as a primary school.
In the current operation, a modern restaurant and guesthouse complex was built around the old logs, respecting tradition. Härmän Rati started serving organic food in August 2016. Since then, over the years, the dishes and recipes have been developed with devotion.
All food is handmade from start to finish using fresh ingredients. The recipes and flavours of the dishes are close to what they were in the days of our mothers, grandmothers and grandfathers. For the salad table, many products have been developed according to the "Martta's" teachings.

City of Sensible Award
The purpose of the Järkevä award is to highlight environmental actions and resource-wise activities in Järvenpää. The recipient of the award can be an individual, group, association or company from Järvenpää.
The idea behind resource wisdom is to reduce harmful environmental impacts while promoting the well-being of residents and strengthening the region's competitiveness in a changing world.
The prize is awarded annually and is given for promoting environmental well-being or, more broadly, resource wisdom. The award of the Sensible Award is also considered to have the additional advantage of.
- exemplary action that others can follow or otherwise participate in
- involve, at least in some way, all the members of the rewarded community
- is long-lasting and will continue into the future
- have a broad impact
