The City of Järvenpää is looking for a company or entrepreneur with restaurant or café operations to rebuild the Rantapuisto pavilion. The reason for this is the decision of the previously selected partner to withdraw from the project and, despite negotiations, it was not possible to move the project forward according to the timetable proposed by the city. The new partnership search is expected to start in early 2022 and the pavilion would be operational between 2022 and 2023.
It is hoped that the pavilion concept chosen next year will support Järvenpää's brand image, increase the attractiveness of the Rantapuisto in the eyes of the city's residents and promote the development of the city's tourism industry. The operator must show willingness and interest to be an active part of the city's tourism marketing.
Based on the draft zoning plan amendment currently being prepared for the waterfront park, 150 square metres of building space is allocated for a café building.
The aim of the Rantapuisto development programme, launched in 2018, is to make Rantapuisto a common living room for residents on the shores of Lake Tuusulanjärvi. As part of the development work, the city wants to enliven and diversify the park's activities and services.
