City of growth

Järvenpää is in the lead with its rapid growth compared to its neighboring areas. The population growth rate has been 2.5 percent in 2018, making Järvenpää the fastest growing municipality or city of Finland’s mainland. Järvenpää aims for 5,000 more workplaces by the end of 2040.

Järvenpää is in the center of the southern Finnish city network. Great connections in every direction make logistics and mobility effortless.

The reconstruction project in the center of the city will greatly increase the number of office spaces and meet the city’s growing needs.

A city with many strengths

The proximity of the airport, ports and motorways ensures a safe infrastructure for continuous business expansion and development.

The E75 highway ensures short travel times to Helsinki (approx. 35 min) and Lahti (approx. 50 min). Additionally, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport can be reached in 25 minutes via Tuusulanväylä.  The many railway connections and a total of 4 train stations make it easier to travel around. Alongside with the airport, the Port of Porvoo and West Harbour (approx. 40 km) as well as Vuosaari Harbour (approx. 33 km) enable fast logistics outside of Finland.

There is a good population structure in Järvenpää. There are many young people as well as young adults, which makes the area attractive. The purchasing power of Järvenpää is above the average in the area and the growing population will further increase the purchasing power.

Järvenpää’s housing and building stocks are constantly being renewed and the city is modernizing rapidly. The construction of Perhelä’s city block will form a city-wide high-quality entirety and its concept will support the commercial attraction for Järvenpää’s city center.

Growth happens outside of the city center as well – the new business area Boogie, which is located next to Lahdenväylä, was selected as a new distribution center for Lidl.
