At the meeting of the Järvenpää City Council on 28 June 2023, the sale of a business plot to Posti Group Oyj will be discussed. This is an 18-hectare plot with a building capacity of 93 500 k-m2 in the Svengin business park for a purchase price of €5.8 million. The Sveng business park is located in an area with excellent transport connections, right next to the Lahti motorway (E75), the northern exit of Järvenpää and the Haarajoki train station.
Posti Group Plc is planning to build a new warehouse and related operations in Järvenpää for the use of Transval, a member of the Posti Group. The decision on the construction will be taken at a later stage. Details of the warehouse's operations, such as construction schedules, technical solutions and estimated employment, will be provided once the decisions related to the project have been made.
Transval is the market leader in outsourcing logistics in Finland and the largest in-house logistics company in the Nordic countries. Transval's latest 30 000 square metre warehouse building was completed in Sipoos in 2022.
